Memory Map
Aurélie Pédron
MEMORY MAP is a relational work woven from shared memories. It is built through the association of ideas or references, allowing personal anecdotes to emerge.
We ask ourselves: how is the other reflected in me and opens me up to my memories, how do personal memories meet universally?
MEMORY MAP breaks down the boundaries of what separates us in favor of what unites us, taking us from the personal to the universal.
A performance that’s both playful and ritualistic, it unfolds in warehouses, attics and other spaces where dust and objects settle.
La coproduction
In 2014, Aurélie Pedron participated in Ateliers de recherche chorégraphique de Montréal Danse. In 2019, the choreographer will collaborate with Montréal Danse and Danse-Cité to create Invisible, a work in which the intimate creative experience becomes a vector of transformation and emotion for the audience. Aurélie Pedron’s rich sensibility and her unifying work match Kathy Casey’s desire to make room for the spectator’s influence in the unfolding of her works. So it was natural that the collaboration continued with the creation of Memory Map.
