For the past 20 years, Louise Michel has been working for different companies and independent artists such as Hanako Hoshimi-Caines, Rubberband, Dana Gingras, Fréderick Gravel, Adam Kinner, Simon Portigal, Lara Oundjian and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. After living in Belgium for 5 years, she traveled between Brussels and Montreal and created her first project Stroke aka SHUDDER in collaboration with Ben Fury (Belgium), which premiered at Charleroi danse (Brussels, 2016) and in several venues including OFFTA (2015), Tangente (Montreal, 2016), Palais de Tokyo (Paris, 2016) and Festival de Lausanne (2017). She created a second project, Bright Worms, presented at La Chapelle (2021), a multidisciplinary research on bioluminescence with the integration of video projections and light devices in collaboration with sound artist Magali Babin. She regularly teaches in Montreal and abroad, and these exchanges are proving to be increasingly crucial and complementary to her artistic process. Since 2021, she works in parallel in the field of plants and flowers. This second profession is now essential to maintain a good balance and a necessary distance from her artistic practice.
