Originally from Manosque, France, Louis-Elyan Martin is a French-Canadian contemporary dance choreographer and performer based in Montreal, Canada. He holds a Master’s degree in History and Literature and graduated from the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal. He has pursued his professional career as a performer with renowned companies such as O Vertigo, Louise Bédard Danse, Animals of Distinction, Alan Lake Factori(e), Le carré des lombes, Montréal Danse and Caroline Laurin-Beaucage. For the past few years, he has been developing his sense of choreography by drawing on his experience as a dancer but also through the disciplines and names that inspire him such as Gaga, Tanz Theatre and Dimitris Papaioannou. His work has been presented in numerous festivals in Canada, Cyprus, France and the Dominican Republic. His latest creation Canto Ostinato has been presented in several boroughs of Montreal.
