Over the course of her career in contemporary dance, Christine Charles has collaborated in the creation of approximately one hundred works and in the remounting of over thirty pieces, first as a performer, then as an artistic consultant and rehearsal director. For the past twenty years, her skills have also been put to use as a cultural worker for various artists and organizations. In 2016, she obtained a Master’s degree in dance at UQÀM, focusing on the phenomenon of the dancer’s gaze within choreographic creation.
She joined the team of Montréal Danse the same year, as Production and Dance Against Violence Coordinator. Interested in the body as a site of inscription of life trajectories and in dance as a social practice endowed with a formidable power of transformation, Christine is involved in the DAV project with happiness and conviction.
