Montreal-based choreographer and a major figure in Hip-Hop dance in Quebec, her passion for this art form was born in the 80s, when she was still very young. Her symbiotic relationship with Hip-Hop culture in her choreographic work is the essence of her artistic signature. In 2005, she created the Bust A Move Festival, Canada’s largest street dance competition, co-presented by La TOHU.
Spicey has also been performing and teaching hip-hop dance for almost 20 years. Wishing to push her artistic aspirations and bring street dance creation to contemporary stages, she founded the Ebnflōh company in 2015. She surrounds herself with accomplices and peers who fuel her creative process. Today with Ebnflōh, d’Alexandra ‘Spicey’ Landé is building a choreographic language unique to her vision. Her artistic signature, her involvement in the community and her contribution to the artistic milieu make her a driving force in the creation of street dance in Canada.
