Danse Against Violence works for the well-being of women and their children who are victims of various types of violence. Through movement workshops in women’s shelters, DCV helps them reclaim their bodies and regain their self-esteem, while fostering family ties.
In collaboration with Montréal Danse’s administrative and development departments, and in direct contact with the dancer-moderators and the shelters, the Coordinator of Danse Against Violence will be responsible for multiple files related to workshop coordination, development and fundraising.
Job description
Administrative coordination of workshops:
- Liaison and communication with shelters and dancer-moderators,
- Maintenance of workshop calendar
- Follow-up of invoices
- Budget follow-up
Development:
- Work with dancer-moderators to develop new workshops
- Organize refresher training for dancer-moderators
- Develop new partnerships
- Increase visibility
Search for financing:
- Fundraising
- Research and write grants
Desired qualities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Perfect command of spoken and written French, very good knowledge of English
- Excellent writing skills in French
- Ability to work with a small team
- Autonomy, strong sense of organization, initiative and versatility
- Good listening skills and sensitivity
Assets
- Experience/knowledge of contemporary dance
- A minimum of two years’ experience in helping relationships and/or in helping women and/or people in vulnerable situations.
Type of employment
- Start date desired: end of September
- Permanent position, 2/3 days a week
- Office in downtown Montreal
- Salary between $20 and $25 per hour depending on experience + benefits
