Born in Rouyn-Noranda, David Rancourt has been living in Montreal since 1999. In twenty years, he has distinguished himself as a dance artist in some fifty productions, including some thirty creations, among which we find landmark works from Paula de Vasconcelos, Marie Chouinard, José Navas, Annie Gagnon, Alan Lake and Pierre-Paul Savoie. For several years, David has navigated between the roles of choreographer, performer, teacher, rehearsal director, outside eye and assistant artistic director. In this way, he has refined the coordination of human, artistic and technical elements in the creative process. These multiple functions become valuable assets in his new role as Artistic Director of PPS Danse. Desiring that PPS Danse continue to be a crossroads of encounters between artists, disciplines and audiences, he hopes that his extensive knowledge of the milieu will make him a unifying artistic director, capable of openness, listening, risk-taking and freedom. In parallel to this new role, he continues to work as a performer with creators Ariane Boulet, Caroline Laurin-Beaucage, Aurélie Pedron and Alan Lake.
