Dominique Sophie is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher specializing in house and waacking dance. After initially training in house dance in Montreal with Irvin “Dazl” St-Louis and Marvin Baptiste in 2007, Dominique moved to New York to immerse herself fully in this culture, learning both in clubs and studios. In 2012, she completed a master’s degree at NYU’s Gallatin School in dance research, creation, and production. As a choreographer, Dominique has presented works at the On occupe le Bain Saint-Michel festival, Tangente, the 100Lux Festival, OFFTA, and CAM on tour. In 2014, Dominique was also co-choreographer and performer for the European tour of the live band of Theo Parrish, legendary producer from Detroit. Dominique Sophie is co-creator of the Tap Water Jam events.
