Elahe Moonesi is a director, choreographer, and multidisciplinary artist originally from Tehran, Iran, now based in Montréal. She began her career in 2001 as a dancer in a professional dance theatre project while still a student. In 2004, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Directing from Sooreh University.
Her passion for contemporary dance has led her to explore various techniques and styles through extensive research and training, including participating in European workshops and courses.
Over the years, she has directed, choreographed, and performed in numerous productions, as well as created short dance films and video art projects.
From 2009 to 2022, she taught dance and performance in Iran, aiming to train dancers and expand the local dance community. Inspired by the cultural and societal context of Iran and its rich literary heritage, Elahe has developed a personal artistic language that shapes her work today.
