The company creates a repertoire of original works in collaboration with Montreal based choreographers such as James Kudelka, Jean-Pierre Perreault, Catherine Tardif, Ginette Laurin and Dani\u00e8le Desnoyers. Montr\u00e9al Danse continues to tour in Canada and regularly visits the West Coast of the United States with several landmark pieces from its repertoire, including <em style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Enter: Last<\/em><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"> by Jos\u00e9 Navas and <\/span><em style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Love Letter to Tarantino<\/em><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"> by Paula de Vasconcelos.<\/span><\/li><li><strong>1998 &#8211;<\/strong> The company begins a long-term collaboration with choreographer Estelle Clareton: <em>Je ne m&#8217;en souviens pas tr\u00e8s bien<\/em> (1998); <em>De Julia \u00e0 \u00c9mile 1949<\/em> (2001); <em>FURIES, Alpha 1\/24<\/em> (2005) and <em>S\u2019envoler<\/em> (2010).<\/li><li><strong>1999 and 2003 &#8211;<\/strong> The <em>Big Bang<\/em> mixed programs are created with works by Estelle Clareton (Montreal, 1999), Dominique Porte (Montreal, 1999), Jean-Pierre Mondor (Montreal, 1999), Ae-Soon Ahn (South Korea, 2003), Karine Ponties (Belgium, 2003) and Jos\u00e9 Navas (Montreal, 2003). The company&#8217;s works begin to be performed on a larger scale abroad.<\/li><li><strong>2004 &#8211;<\/strong>\u00a0Choreographic Research Workshops and Research Events are initiated and become recurring projects following their success.<\/li><li><strong>Starting in 2006<\/strong>, Montr\u00e9al Danse shifts toward more conceptual and performative projects: <em>Un peu comme toi<\/em> by Martin B\u00e9langer, <em>On the Ice of Labrador<\/em> by Sarah Chase (Canada, 2007) and <em>Fragil<\/em> by Blanca Arrieta (Spain, 2008).<\/li><li><strong>2008 &#8211;<\/strong> Montr\u00e9al Danse co-founds Art Circulation, a consortium dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of its members&#8217; artistic work on a national and international scale.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6ab753c elementor-widget-divider--view-line elementor-widget elementor-widget-divider\" data-id=\"6ab753c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"divider.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-divider\">\n\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-divider-separator\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-68d5d60 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"68d5d60\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">As of 2010<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-90c5c2d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"90c5c2d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The company continues evolving. Montr\u00e9al Danse is now an active choreographic platform for new voices and new choreographic practices to reach an ever wider local and international audience. This change involves:<\/p><ul><li>Creation of more atypical works, both in their nature and in their performance contexts;<\/li><li>Rather than a permanent group of dancers, dancers and collaborators are chosen for each creation;<\/li><li>Two to three years are dedicated to the development of each project in order to give the necessary time to experiment;<\/li><li>Artistic partnerships and coproductions with the companies of the associated choreographers are established. This association brings about an important change in the implementation of creative teams, in the sharing of ownership of works and in the defence of artistic ideas.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b287767 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b287767\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li><strong>2010 &#8211;<\/strong> Montr\u00e9al Danse implants the art for social action project Dance Against Violence<em>,<\/em> in collaboration with Agora de la Danse, La Dauphinelle and Am\u00e9lie Dionne-Charest. This project offers movement workshops to women who are victims of violence, helping them reclaim their bodies. The workshops benefit a growing and increasingly diversified clientele.<\/li><li><strong>2012 &#8211;<\/strong> Kathy Casey begins offering dramaturgy workshops.<\/li><li><strong>2013 &#8211;<\/strong> Montr\u00e9al Danse\u2019s piece <em>Prisms, <\/em>by Beno\u00eet Lachambre, receives the CALQ award for best choreographic work of the 2013-2014 season.<\/li><li><strong>2014 &#8211;<\/strong> Charlotte Calais takes over the administrative management and development of the company.<\/li><li><strong>2014 &#8211;<\/strong> Dance Against Violence and Montr\u00e9al Danse merge in order to reach more women in need, and to ensure the ongoing development of projects.<\/li><li><strong>Starting in 2014<\/strong>, the company develops a successful collaboration with Montreal artists Caroline Laurin-Beaucage (<em>White Matter<\/em>, 2015; <em>GROUND<\/em>, 2018; <em>REBO(U)ND<\/em>, 2018) and Marie B\u00e9land (<em>BETWEEN<\/em>, 2014; <em>BESIDE<\/em>, 2018; <em>RADIOMATON<\/em>, 2022).
