As a choreographer of multidisciplinary projects, Camille Lacelle-Wilsey is interested in experimental cinema and performance art. Since 2015, she has presented her creations and co-creations in various theaters and festivals, including La Chapelle, Tangente, and the OFFTA Festival.<\/span><\/p>\n

Born in Montreal, Camille now lives on a biodynamic farm in the Eastern Townships. She studied contemporary dance at Concordia University and has participated in numerous advanced workshops in Belgium. She has just completed the classical singing program in the music department at C\u00e9gep de Sherbrooke.<\/span><\/p>\n

Close collaboration with musicians on stage has been an integral part of her artistic approach since her beginnings. Her choreographic writing combines improvisation and pre-established structures, playing on the contrasts between freedom and constraint. Her choreographic scores reveal different states of presence and a range of postures. Driven by notions of reversal, shifting, and change of direction, she explores the tension between individual freedom and collective duty.<\/span><\/p>\n

In parallel with her creative work, Camille is interested in the artistic process as a videographer, teacher, outside eye, jury member, and performer. She collaborates with artists such as Erin Hill, Sara Hanley, Catherine Lavoie-Marcus, Rebecca Rehder, \u00c9lise Legrand, Eryn Tempest, and Nien Tzu Weng, with whom she forms the Double Fantasy collective.<\/span><\/p>\n

She has received several creative grants and has been supported by LA SERRE \u2013 Arts Vivants, Circuit-Est centre chor\u00e9graphique, and the Centre de cr\u00e9ation O Vertigo (CCOV).<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
