Her practice blends dance, photography, sculpture, and installation. She has been involved in numerous international projects, including with Sara Cwynar for her film <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Red Film<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, presented at the S\u00e3o Paulo Biennial in Brazil in 2018, as well as at MoMA and the Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art. In 2019, she was commissioned by Toronto Dance Theatre to create a piece titled <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Slow Dance<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a large-scale sculptural installation that earned her a nomination for the Dora Mavor Moore Awards in the &#8220;Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble&#8221; category. Marie was also honored to be featured among NOW Magazine&#8217;s &#8220;12 Artists to Watch&#8221; in 2019. In 2020, she produced <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Slow Death<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a solo and a duet commissioned and presented at the Art Gallery of Ontario. This work juxtaposes found objects, electronic music, and colorful fabrics with the Baroque paintings of the museum\u2019s European masters galleries. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Slow Death<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was also adapted and presented at the Furies Festival in July 2022. In October 2023, the choreographer was commissioned by The Bentway to create a piece integrated into the large-scale installation <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Confluence<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, produced by the acclaimed artist duo Striped Canary. The artist also created a work for Toes for Dance, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Body\/Landscape<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, an in situ work presented in the gardens of Lee Lifeson Art Park in Toronto.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The choreographer is currently developing her project <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Still Life<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a series of performances and exhibitions composed of large-format photographs of objects and sculptural movements.
